Reserved Seat holder representing Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation

Jamie McPherson

Wadawurrung

It is an honour for me to be selected as the representative of my community on the Assembly, as Wadawurrung’s Reserved Seat Holder.

I will be a conduit for my community to create change and I am committed to being a voice that they can get behind.

My dream is to see our Culture shared and celebrated, and I believe this starts with Treaty. I have strong interest in sport and believe it can be a catalyst for change and that we should utilise the power of sport throughout this journey. I also believe in education and creating opportunities, and I will advocate for all Mob in these areas. Although that is my aspiration, I am also here to advocate for my Mob’s aspirations and I will do that to the best of my ability.

I want to see us all succeed and be able to care for Country, I want to see non-First Nations people celebrate our Culture and embrace it as something that has lasted thousands of generations and will last thousands of more generations.

For me, through the combined efforts of listening and sharing, we can create a unique environment for the benefit of all Victorians, and a country that has more than 65,000 years of history.
