Our Assembly meeting in Gariwerd Halls Gap was surrounded by and grounded in culture.
We had a tour of Brambuk National Park, heard the story of Bunjil’s Shelter, saw the ochre at Lake Lonsdale and learnt about a significant Scar Tree in the area.
We had many powerful yarns and workshops here on Jadawadjali, Djab Wurrung and Gunditjmara Country.

We heard updates from our Elders’ Voice and Youth Voice to ensure our discussions are informed by everyone in our communities.
Members worked collaboratively to provide input to our negotiation workshops to ensure that our first Statewide Treaty is strong and will deliver for our Communities.
The Treaty Authority members joined our meeting to provide an update on their engagements, working across all levels of Community including families, clans TO, RAP non-recognised parties, to increase Treaty awareness and understanding.
This Chamber meeting comes at a pivotal moment, as we move closer to the first Statewide Treaty, always guided by the ideas and aspirations of all our people.
