After nearly a decade walking the path to Treaty with our communities, and generations of resistance and activism from First Peoples, Australia’s first Treaty is here.
This is definitely something to celebrate!
Victoria’s new Treaty era will officially begin on Friday 12 December – and we’re kicking it off with two special events we hope you can join us for.






Treaty: It’s Here – Ceremony and Celebration at John Cain Arena
Everyone who calls Victoria home is invited to join us to celebrate this historic moment with live performances from:

Statewide Treaty Community Celebration
Before our Treaty: It’s Here celebration begins, we’re inviting all First Peoples to a ceremony at the League to mark the Cultural Assent of Australia’s first Treaty. There will be dance and Culture, live music, and a free feed.
Come along for performances by an incredible line up of deadly Blak artists, including:

Registrations are free but essential.
After our Community Celebration, jump on a nearby tram or train to head to the Treaty: It’s Here celebration event at John Cain Arena from 6.30pm.
A free bus service will be available for Elders and people with limited movement.

Treaty marks the beginning of a new era, one where First Peoples’ knowledge and culture is respected and celebrated. It’s an opportunity for everyone who calls Victoria home to acknowledge our shared history, heal and move forward together.
